What to Expect

The Deming High School Wildcat band year is always filled with new experiences and unanticipated activities. Check out our Wildcat Weekly Band Notes and the Calendar to find out what is happening this year. 

 Here is what you can typically expect: 

​Mid-July

Senior Leadership Retreat at Warm Beach

BAND CAMP: All high school band students are required to participate in the 2 week-long Band Camp held at DHS. Monday-Friday 8 am - 5 pm. Bring lunch, water, hat, sunscreen, instrument, and LOTS of energy! 

​During Band Camp

All band members are fitted, and uniforms are distributed, to be kept in the band hall. 

Annual Band Concert on the Green after camp on the last firday 

​August to Early November

Marching Band Season, including home football game performances, pre-game rehearsals, and sectionals. Homecoming, fair, and Duck Race Parade in October.

​September

Friday Night Football games

​October

Dont plan anything for a saturday in october as thats the contest season and we will be traveling. All-State Band audition recordings for motivated students.

​Mid-December

Full band Winter Concert and Sleigh Ride Fundraiser

​December to February

The Pep Band has performances at basketball games.

​March

Music in Our Schools Concert

​April

NMAA State Concert Band contest and concert band auditions for the next year.

​May

Spring High School Band Concert and graduation concert
